Food Cup Dalarö:
Heavy wind, short course, warm and sunny weather. Perfect arrangement both on
land and on water. This kind of conditions are those we like the most. The sad
thing for us was that we broke our mast on the last leg in the first race.
Nobody got hurt. The upper shroud pulled out from the backing plate in the mast.
The Tube broke first by the genua halyard sheave-box, than followed by a brake
just below the vang connection. |

World
Championship in Holland 2002: "Jonas! Where is the starting line?
Are we clear ?" You got to play the oscillating shift. Forget about the persistent
shifts. Gybing in heavy wind is like avoiding the falling bars in the computer
game "Tetris".
We have found Eva Brauns sister Leif Braun. She was
serving breakfast at the Regatta restaurant in Medemblik. Jesper is a hell of
a runner. Jonas showed a dangerous work-out. "La Grotta" had the biggest
pizzas and that was what we were looking for.
Team Bold dancing at the Disco (alone without camera, thanks).
Danne, our
timing man, who once drank twenty four Red Bull vodka, found a new way of drinking
big beers by timing with his new Musto starting watch. Don´t try to beat
him, you could die ! All Danne speakes about after just one beer is, "I can´t
wait! I want to go out sailracing !" He can show you how to trim the Spinnaker
and speed away from the Nescafé team.
Except for the terms "starboard"
and "port" you have to know what "a Håkan shift" is.
"KPMG" didn´t know that term and lost 15 places. In Holland you
can´t buy things for money, first you have to buy a ticket. Håkan,
the nice guy
who mist the boat and got a bath, when he showed the boat to a Dutch opponent.

Class Weight-losing: A cup of sallad ! Is that all we will get today
? I haven´t weight so little since I was fourteen. Weight check at the swimming
hall. We are not boxers, we are sailors going to the World Championship. We didn´t
have to go for the full treatment like Xquisite. Team Nescafé did the outmost
jogging in sail clothes to loose weight. |

Open 2002, Floating race ! The result can´t get worse, we've
never been down there before. Special thanks to: Klas who cured us with a bootle
of Triss Conjac, the opponent who warned us for the ground in the racing area
and God for the warm swimming water. Danne, Jonas and Håkan danced highest
of everyone, something they learnt from their vollyeball experience. |

our high truck in Denmark but the trees where not cut for trucks higher than four
meters, so we took half of the forest with us. |

Gotland Race. Fitting the boat for ORC safty rule. First leg, smooth
wind, ruff waves, whats wrong with the speed? GPS-navigation without looking up.
Crime and punishment, - Dostojevski reading on the rail. Snuff all over the cockpit.
Tight reach with or without the small spinnaker, this was the descisive guestion
for the final result. Last mile,- downwind drifring in no wind. We took some places
and got a result we can live with. |
